a series of regional workshops

This is the blog for Accessing the Maine Coast: A series of regional workshops about public access to the Maine coast. The workshops took place at three locations in Maine in September and October of 2008: Southern Maine (Wells), Midcoast Maine (Walpole), and Downeast Maine (Machias). Each workshop featured the following presentations:

Progress Made — featuring successful regional Working Waterfront Access Pilot Program
and Current Use Taxation model projects.

New Information and Tools -- An attorney from UM School of Law will summarize innovative legal tools to address coastal access issues, and introduce a new Web site sharing these tools.

New Directions for the Future — An overview of recent strategic planning by the Working Waterfront Coalition and an opportunity to respond to ideas for new initiatives.
